Dan Rooney was more than a team owner, he was a beloved and respected man who shaped the NFL into what it is today. On an immediate level he turned the Pittsburgh Steelers into one of football’s most-successful teams, but he also did critically important work that will have an impact on the game for decades to come.
Much of Rooney’s work was behind the scenes. It’s one of the reasons why he’s respected by other owners and league officials so much — but there are a few high-profile things he achieved.
Samuel’s commitment marks the continuation of some excellent defensive back recruiting by Jimbo Fisher’s FSU. The Noles landed three blue-chip DBs in the 2017 class, including another NFL legacy in cornerback Stanford Samuels. In 2016, they signed the top-rated corner in the country, Levonta Taylor, and two other blue-chips. They’ve accumulated talent to the point where throwing on FSU should be difficult for the next three or four seasons, at least. And Fisher probably isn’t done.
Missing out on Samuel will sting for Miami, but not all’s lost for the Cheap Jerseys NFL Hurricanes. Mark Richt’s team still has the No. 1 class in the country for 2018, with 15 commits already. That class includes two four-star cornerbacks.
Indianapolis still needs to round its offensive line for Andrew Luck, but Cheap Green Bay Packers Jerseys that unit is not as pressing as one might think. Getting stronger in the middle defensively takes precedence, but the Colts’ first pick might be more in the wheelhouse of a workhorse back.
